Pommern Redoubt and Castle ?

Hi,

has anybody mapproof where Pommern Redoubt and Pommern Castle are seperately positioned.

I know where Pommern is, but I would like to be able to differentiate between Redoubt and Castle.

The only map I have makes it appear that they are both at the same location. This map is dated 30th June, 1917:

Now I have found this map dated 9th September, 1916:

And this one, dated 25th February, 1917.

Looking at all three suggests that the buildings there were called Pommern Castle and the redoubt was the trench system surrounding the buildings.

I hope that helps.

thank you so much ! I knew they were very close but it seems Redoubt is north of Castle. And as you say: castle on the ruins of the former farm.

Easy, just use TrenchMapper. Use Advanced Search and enter Pommern.

Then use the map list lower left. Included are a number of aerial photographs.

You might like to right click and choose Centre Map Here then righ click again and choose Maps At Centre. That will update the map list.
