Could some kind person please post a description of the coloured arm patches identifying the various infantry battalions of the 38th Welsh Division 1916-18?

Hi Clive,

Here are those that I couldn't find earlier:

113th Trench Mortar Battery Blue-grey triangle 2” Felt

114th Trench Mortar Battery Blue-grey disc 2” diameter Cotton

115th Trench Mortar Battery Blue Square 1¼" Felt

This now completes the information that I have for the 38th Inf Div.

Regards

Arthur

Hi Hywyn

The 19 Welsh (Glamorgan Pioneers) wore a brown circle.

Thanks Ken

It was Clive that made the query so I'm sure he'll note it when seen. It does contradict what Arthur says in post 3 though?

Hi Hywyn

The red/blue rectangle is more than likely a helmet marking.

Best regards
