davidmoore Posted 27 March , 2013 Share Posted 27 March , 2013 The experts on this forum have been very helpful to me in the past regarding the idenfication of uniforms. I have recently acquired the attached photo that was described as GOSPORT RP GROUND CREW LARGE SPOTLIGHT RAF GOSPORT ? 1916 Or course it is not RAF and I suspect that it is the Royal Engineers at the School of Electric Lighting (Searchlights) at Stokes Bay and Fort Monckton at Gosport. If anyone can confirm that I am correct regarding the uniforms and possibly offer a date I would be very grateful.
Terry_Reeves Posted 27 March , 2013 Share Posted 27 March , 2013 David I rather suspect this is an inter-war photograph by the look of some of the caps in the first picture. TR
sonofacqms Posted 27 March , 2013 Share Posted 27 March , 2013 Photo probably taken around 1938-1940 due to the field service caps being worn along with the peaked caps and service dress. Rob
