sutton-in-craven Posted 8 March , 2013 Share Posted 8 March , 2013 Hi, this photo came from a relative of 40902 Pte Albert Akrigg who joined the Sherwood Foresters (Nott's Derby regt) around Sept 1916. By January 1917 he had been transferred to the Norfolk Reg't This shot looks like a group of war weary soldiers. I'm wondering which regiment it is and what the relationship to Albert Akrigg may have been? Many thanks for any help or suggestions, regards Andrew

battiscombe Posted 8 March , 2013 Share Posted 8 March , 2013 seated right has a shoulder badge which looks a bit more like RGA than RFA, but you may be able to see better. They look hungry - with impressively large spoons
sutton-in-craven Posted 10 March , 2013 Author Share Posted 10 March , 2013 Thanks very much everybody for your comments and for clarifying that the group photo represents the artillery, much appreciated. Regards Andrew
Blackblue Posted 10 March , 2013 Share Posted 10 March , 2013 Can you blow up the shoulder title? The bloke in the middle looks to be a farrier (horseshoe badge).

Blackblue Posted 10 March , 2013 Share Posted 10 March , 2013 The 1901 Census has brothers Robert, Harry and Horace. Harry Akrigg appears to have served with 2/2nd West Riding Bde, Royal Field Artillery number 2539 (not Royal Fusiliers) and then 62nd Division ammunition column number 1017. He has pension papers and his NOK is confirmed (same as Census) as father Benjamin. He was discharged unfit and does not appear to have served OS. He may well be in this photo....
