I have come across this unit in an officer's record. I am sure it is Indian Army, but can anyone point me to a regimental history or more info.

Ta,

Ian

There are six histories listed, plus a volume of Hodson's letters and two biographies of Hodson. Entering Hodson's Horse in the title box in ABE bookfinder will locate a couple. National Army Museum have at least 4 of the 6 histories, and you could probably find out if IWM have them thro' their new on-line catalogue (haven't used it yet so don't know for sure).

They came to France in the Ambala Brigade of the 1st Indian Cavalry Division, transferred to the 2nd Ind Cav Div 15/9/15. 2 Ind Cav Div became 5 Ind Cav Div 26/11/16, broken up March 1918. Battle honours Somme and Cambrai.

Elements (inC Hodson's Horse) transfered to 2nd Mounted Div (5th Mounted Bde), which became 5 Cav Div (13 Cav Bde) - latter two fought in Palestine.
