goldsrobin Posted 20 February , 2013 Share Posted 20 February , 2013 Hi, Thanks for looking at this thread which shows photos shown originally on the Soldiers part of the Forum. I am trying to establish in which regiment by grandfather served before joining the RFC in August 1917. I only have the 2 photos below to go on although there is suggestion (from another Pal) that he joined 1/5 Royal Scots Fusiliers. I have not yet traced his record. Can any of you uniform experts identify anything from these photos? What is the stripe on his forearm? Many thanks Robin
max7474 Posted 20 February , 2013 Share Posted 20 February , 2013 Top photo shows that he was in the cavalry or yeomanry for certain. The chevron is for good conduct.
