Revan Posted 17 February , 2013 Share Posted 17 February , 2013 (edited) Hello, Jean DE FRANCIA was normally awarded of a French medal, there his citation: de Francia (Jean), Flight Sub Lieutenant du Royal Air Service, section d'aérostiers : Officier dévoué, technicien distingué, fournit aux troupes françaises les renseignements les plus utiles pour le réglage des tirs d'artillerie, effectuant des ascensions et poursuivant ses observations malgré le bombardement ennemi. Normally, text of May 5, 1917. (Source : Old newspaper "L'Aérophile"). There is his photograph (with surely a British Navy uniform?), normally, if not a mistake by the newspaper for his face. Under this photograph, text is: Flight Sub Lieutenant Jean de FRANCIA Né le 5 mai 1885 à Paris (Born at Paris on May 5, 1885), if not a mistake. Brevet de pilote d'aérostat de la F.A.I. (http://en.wikipedia...._Internationale) N° 101 du 7 décembre 1907. (I'm sorry, I don't know in English, the good words). Best regards.
