adam1981 Posted 13 February , 2013 Share Posted 13 February , 2013 Hello I have recently purchased a 1914 star and have found the medal index card which only records the 1914 star. I can not find his pair? i appreciate this will have been a different card but cant find it on the national archive or ancestry websites. He died 01-02-15 but i assume will still have a pair? i have experienced this before but always found the related pair, often a different service number. the man in question is 5628 Private Walter Thomas Shaw Coldstream Guards. any assistance on this would be very much appreciated. adam1981 Posted 14 February , 2013 Author Share Posted 14 February , 2013 a further point with this medal please this medal is i believe not a fake or a copy but has small late style naming, which does not include the battalion. Howard Williamson's book states the Coldstream Guards only had what he calls type 1 naming in 14 stars.
