silkman3811 Posted 12 February , 2013 Share Posted 12 February , 2013 Can anyone help with the following soldier who died on 13th August 1917 whilst serving with the 11th (Service) Battalion, The King's Liverpool Regiment. Name: ARTHUR WOOD Rank: PRIVATE Service no. 11469 According to his MIC he was in action from the outset - crossing to France on 12th August 1914. Obviously, this can't have been with the 11th KLR. Does anyone have any ideas as to which battalion he served with ? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
little bob Posted 12 February , 2013 Share Posted 12 February , 2013 Looking at the Long Long Trail, 1st Battalion Landed in France 13 /8/1914. As you state Arthur's MIC gives the date as 12/8/1914 Bob
Admin spof Posted 12 February , 2013 Admin Share Posted 12 February , 2013 He would have joined in late 1912 or early 1913 http://armyservicenumbers.blogspot.co.uk/2009/07/kings-liverpool-regiment-1st-2nd.html
