alibagg Posted 27 January , 2013 Share Posted 27 January , 2013 The attached photo shows 7 soldiers grouped together for a studio portrait which was taken in Rouen, (I think sometime between April and September of 1916). All the soldiers are wearing what looks like a horizontal stripe tricoloured ribbon pinched in at the centre to create a bow, which then seems to be pinned into the tunic. All the soldiers are wearing the ribbon pin in the same place. I wonder if anyone could tell me what this signifies. I have only included a detail of this photo but all the soldiers appear to be from different regiments, some have no visable insignia on their tunics and no caps are in evidence.
