nickhand Posted 20 January , 2013 Share Posted 20 January , 2013 Does anyone know if the absent voter lists exist for Derby 1918? I'm looking for my grandfather Edward Hand 29 Rutland Street Derby. Thanks Nick
nsaspdin Posted 22 January , 2013 Share Posted 22 January , 2013 I suggest you ask the Derby Local Studies library by email: http://www.derby.gov...tudies-library/ If they have it, but want to charge you to look, let me know and I will look next time I pass. nickhand Posted 26 January , 2013 Author Share Posted 26 January , 2013 Nigel I got a reply. This is what they said "John Hand, voting qualification for Parliamentary elections by residence, and local elections through occupation Mary Ann Hand, voting qualifications for both through husband’s occupation Edward Hand, absent voter, qualification as member of naval or marine services, entitled to vote in Parliamentary elections only John William Hand, absent voter, qualification as member of naval or marine services, entitled to vote in Parliamentary elections only" No info on service time though Nick
