Remembered Today:

Frederick Edward (Ted) Chadwick - Photographer

I`m looking for any information about a Frederick Edward Chadwick who was living in Manchester at the time of WW1. Ted was a Photographer by trade working for the Manchester Mail & Chronicle Newspapers? He died in 1959 and his 4 surviving children know very little about him as they were separated when very young. As for his involvement in WW1 - all I know is that he was a Photographer! He had 3 Brothers, one Sgt. Joseph Chadwick who was decorated at Givenchy in 1918 and Robert & James who were both KIA in 1916.

Grateful in advance for any help...

Mr Fox,

You face a challenge with a fairly common surname and ancestry may be the best place to start.

It's also worth looking at themanchesters.org forum. I found this entry for 16th Battalion Manchester Regiment - the 1st Manchester Pals.

I also saw photo was taken by Chadwick, 141a Stockport Road, Levenshulme Manchester.

Good luck

Tim

It appears that F E Chadwick was known as Fred. In 1911 at the age of 16 he lived at 22 Withington Street, Cheetham Hill, Manchester.post-95899-0-17521900-1376238264_thumb.j
