As a result of another thread on repatriation, a fellow Pal (Canadaww1) supplied me with the names of a number of deceased Canadians who were possibly repatriated from the UK to Canada towards the end of the war and just afterwards - some with accompanying photos of their graves in Toronto.

One such man was Lieutenant Norman Creighton BILTON of 3 Bde, Canadian Garrison Artillery who died in Bramshott Military Hospital, Hampshire on 5th March 1919.

CWGC listed this man on the United Kingdom 1914-1918 Memorial at Brookwood - a memorial reserved for those who died in the UK but whose grave sites are unknown as yet.

From the photo supplied it was obvious that this man now lies in Toronto and so CWGC were informed of this discovery. After proper investigation CWGC has discovered that he had been buried in Bramshott but was moved to Canada in September 1920. They now have amended his place of commemoration to Toronto (Mount Pleasant) Cemetery and his name will come off the memorial in due course.

He now has his correct commemoration thanks to an exchange on this Forum - another success story!
