Longfield bracket for Vickers MG

Does anyone know what is Longfield bracket for a Vickers MG? Used in emplacements....was it standard part of gun or extra fitting?

Have a look at the link below, pages 108 onwards - it's a mounting for the Vickers gun that allows it to traverse on the muzzle (allowing maximum coverage of field of fire with minimum of exposure of the gun). The original concept was designed by Sergeant Longfield, that was later adapted and adopted by the Army as the "Mounting, Trench, MG, Mk I", modified into the MkI* and MkII, and briefly readopted for use in WW2:
