Remembered Today:

Greenock Co-op Memorial Plaque

Today I noticed a small memorial plaque I hadn't been aware of before. It's a white marble wall plaque on the wall outside the Co-op Funeral Parlour. It lists Co-op employees who fell in the Great War, gives their Regiments etc, but also lists their function in the Co. 'Boot repairs' 'Small breads' etc etc. I don't know why I should find this so touching, but I did.

Hi Marina

If you want to know what regiments etc they served in

"THE MEN OF GREENOCK WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR" should

be of help.

I have a copy if there is anyone you are interested in.

I was born in Greenock :) and will look up this memorial when I come down in a few weeks. ( I dont know how I missed it at family funerals)
