Bob Chandler Posted 1 December , 2012 Share Posted 1 December , 2012 After guarding POWs on prison ships in the Solent, some men of the Royal Berks National Reserve (RDC) were stationed at Barton on Sea. Anyone know why that might have been? I know there was a convalescent hospital there but I can't see a connection there. Was there a POW camp in the area? Cheers Bob

I was interested because my granddad was in one of these coys and the story is he was stationed in the Dorchester / Bovington area at some point. I'll also pm you. P.s have put Friends and Enemies on my Christmas list, fingers crossed.
