oldlincolnian Posted 14 November , 2012 Share Posted 14 November , 2012 Would anyone in possession of the early BRONZE or bronzed pilot wings of the Royal Flying Corps mind identifying themselves to me on here? I am trying to ascertain how many of these may remain in existance. As a point of clarification however, I am referring to the ones with the long pin with a bent wire hinge which are actual pilot badges, NOT the ones fairly commonly found with two bendable metal tines on the rear which are now unequivocally proven to be post war (and in some cases very recent) productions used as frame and shadow box adornments. If possible could you also tell me if there is a maker mark on the rear and what it is. There are also brass versions which may or may not have been previously gilded, some hollow backed and some with a back plate. These were used as dress wings, not field dress. It is specificaly the bronze field dress wings I am seeking info on. Thanks! Chris
