silverblondie Posted 10 November , 2012 Share Posted 10 November , 2012 Hello all Hoping against hope someone can help. I've just discovered the death penny, and possibly medals, of my great-great Uncle, Pte Andrew Graham 41002 of the RSF, were sold in Christies, King Street London on 24 April 1992 along with those of three other soldiers:- 8070 Cpl A H Howlett, RF 41786 Pte W A STEWART, HIGH. L.I 540 GNR. L BIDGOOD. R.A It was lot 54 in sale 4742. Did you buy this lot? Do you know who did? We desperately want Andrew's medals and plaque returned home, so any info on this would be gratefully received. Thank you! Silverblondie
sutton-in-craven Posted 11 November , 2012 Share Posted 11 November , 2012 It might be worth writing to Christies (with the Lot & sale number) asking them if they would be prepared to forward your contact details to the winning bidder back in 1992. Even if the winning bidder in 1992 has since sold them on you may be able to create a paper-trail to where the medals are now. Good luck!
silverblondie Posted 11 November , 2012 Author Share Posted 11 November , 2012 Thank you so much - that's exactly what I'll do. I'll get on it tomorrow when they reopen. Thanks again! Silverblondie
