Remembered Today:

BRASS SHOULDER TITLES does the "T" mean "Territorial?

20th Division

I've been absent (with leave!) for some time. It's good to be back .

Can anyone help please?I'm still researching a Great uncle's activities with the 2/23rd Londons in france and palestine. He was a volunteer in 1917 what sort of shoulder title would he have worn? I have one with a "T" above 23 London---but presumably this was from a "Territorial" in the 1st Btn.?

Thanks. Dave.

Hi Dave,

Welcome back!!

All the battalions of the London Regiment were Territorials, so the shoulder title which you have would be the one which he wore

Late in the War quite a few of the London Territorial units had moved onto cloth insignia and the more exotic 'T/number/LONDON' metal titles which had been worn by the originals had been replaced with just 'T/LONDON'.

Dear Robert and Graham.

Thank you both very much for this information. Appreciated. Best wishes Dave.
