Can someone give me details on this officer please? I have his binoculars intails "SJM Royal Scots." and dated 1913. I suspect a regular however I cannot find him in the Sandhurst Register.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Seaforth78

HIs MIC is interesting, its just written on a plain card, not the usual one.

It does not have his name just initials, with Lieutenant L/126529. It lists R Scots and Welch R with a stamp for the BW and V medals.

It has "no address for issue" and served in France from 17.4.17 to 12.5.17

On the back it says- letter from Lt Col AGM Maitland Canadian Army Staff College

in 68/Medals/379/1/1/66

cant find anything else

regards

Robert

PS Found this- http://www.militaryarchive.co.uk/murphys-register/detail.asp?id=70789

Thanks for this Robert. Now I realise the Canadian connection as this pair was bought in Nova Scotia.

Verry short time in the front; killed??

Hi

Does not look like it, nothing on CWGC - http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead.aspx?cpage=1 and

Maybe transfer took him back to England or somewhere else out of front lines?

The answer will be in his service records.

regards

Robert
