Birthplace Movie for Wilfred Owen - Naomi Nicholas Presents a Guided Tour

Country House enthusiast Naomi Nicholas is to launch a movie about her former home which is the historic birthplace of Shropshire's leading poet. 'A Poet at Plas Wilmot' runs for just 3.5 minutes and gives a tantalising glimpse of one of Shropshire's hidden treasures. Plas Wilmot was recently listed and is acknowledged by English Heritage as the most significant place in Owen's development.

'There were quite a lot of pictures of the outside of the house already but I wanted to show people what it is like inside as well" said Naomi.

A number of unusual features of the handsome late Georgian house such as the segmentally vaulted ceiling of the supposed birthroom and the largely original stable block are given prominence.

Is it the same as when Wilfred was there?

"Inevitably" admits Naomi "There have been changes and some of these are described in the Movie. Thankfully much remains as it was in 1893". In their report English Heritage say that the house "would still be recognised by the family today as the home which they loved"
