jgreen Posted 8 October , 2012 Share Posted 8 October , 2012 Hello, I am hoping that somebody may be able to tell me more about these photos that I have been given. The Officer on the horse was taken in 1916 in Abbeville. Same for photo of soldiers sitting down. I would like to know more about the 2 Scottish soldiers too please who have injuries. Also, does anyone know where Churchill House is please? I want to add some of the details to my web site about Netley military cemetery. Thank you for your help. gordon92 Posted 8 October , 2012 Share Posted 8 October , 2012 Scottish officer on the right is an Argyll & Sutherland Highlander. Officer on left does not have enough of cap badge visible for a definitive ID, but the overstripes on his tartan trousers suggest Highland Light Infantry. Graham Stewart Posted 9 October , 2012 Share Posted 9 October , 2012 In the group photo, all of those seated appear to be senior ranks of the Royal Army Medical Corps, as noted with the cloth 'Red Cross' badges worn with their rank badges. asanewt Posted 9 October , 2012 Share Posted 9 October , 2012 Trivia but the buildings, conical bush and tree trunk backdrop looks the same in the group and mounted officer shots
