Hawke Battalion R N D War Diary 4 11 1918

R/3417 R W Roberts, Hawke Bn died on 29/11/1918 of wounds received on 7/11/1918.

Does anyone please have the War Diary/Unit History for the few days covering the 7/11/1918 please.

Hawke Bn were in billets at Sebourquiaux, close to the Belgian border on 6 Nov.

"7 Nov:- 0030 - Battalion moved forward and relieved LONDON SCOTTISH in ANGRE [just over the border in Belgium], which relief was completed by 0500 hrs. 0900 - Battalion advanced to the attack. 1045 - AUDREGNIES captured with slight casualties and Battalion became Support Battalion to the 189th Brigade. 2200 - Battalion ordered forward to get into assembly positions on the railway embankment east of AUDREGNIES."

On 8 Nov the Hawkes took the village of WIHERIES.

Four Hawkes were killed in the action on 7 November.

'my man' was wounded on 13 November 1916 and succumbed on Tuesday 14 November 1916

The RND assault on Beaucourt-sur-L'Ancre took place on 13/14 November 1916 - The Battle of the Ancre (Tenth Phase of the Battle of the Somme 1916).
