Terry Denham Posted 21 August , 2004 Share Posted 21 August , 2004 Today I was given care of a 14 Star trio by my parents-in-law. They are the medals of Cpl John Hall MM 21658 Royal Field Artillery who died on 04.06.16 and is buried in Faubourg d'Amiens Cemetery, Arras - my wife's great uncle. The sad point of this is that there used to be four medals! His MM was in the same display cabinet until it was stolen in a burglary about six years ago near Littlehampton, Sussex, UK. Why the thieves did not take the set baffles me but I am glad they did not!. If any Pals ever see or hear of this medal I would be very grateful and the family will pay to get it back. I have been unable to find his MIC on-line and I don't know yet if he was entitled to a clasp. Poor photo of medals below.
Terry Denham Posted 21 August , 2004 Author Share Posted 21 August , 2004 And a pic of the man himself. The photo was blown up from a print in a tiny locket!
Jonathan Saunders Posted 21 August , 2004 Share Posted 21 August , 2004 Terry - obviously I am both sorry and fuming to hear the MM was stolen. Do you know what brave deed he made to "win" the MM?
Terry Denham Posted 22 August , 2004 Author Share Posted 22 August , 2004 Sigs Sorry, I have no detailed info as yet. The full research is a project for 'spare' moments!
