Can anybody please point me in the direction of a good first hand account of the battle of Pilckem ridge on July 31 1917 from a member of the 38th Welsh Division.

History of the Welsh Regiment Vol II (Brig Gen T.O.Marden) features it (copy at the NA) as does the History of the 38th Welsh Division (available for about £9 with Naval & Military Press).

I have some contemporary newspaper coverage reports - send me your home address and I'll copy them for you) and my forthcoming book (sorry about the plug, Pals!) tells of Swansea Battalion actions at places such as Pilckem Mill and village and the Iron Cross.
