RammyLad1 Posted 10 September , 2012 Share Posted 10 September , 2012 Could some one please help identify this fuse. I got it from Ypres last week, all I know is that is a British fuse. Duncan
johnreed Posted 10 September , 2012 Share Posted 10 September , 2012 It looks to me to be a Fuze PD 102. John
RammyLad1 Posted 10 September , 2012 Author Share Posted 10 September , 2012 Thank you John - Am I right in assuming this would be off a dud ? Would it be off a shrapnel or high explosive shell and what calibre ? Duncan
johnreed Posted 10 September , 2012 Share Posted 10 September , 2012 It was a Point Detonating Graze ActionFuze used with HE Rounds, the fuze has certainly functioned as you can see by the stripped threads and the absence of the gaine. The fuse was was a converted 100 used with the HE Shell generally. I can't see from your photo it will have either 101 or 102. John

RammyLad1 Posted 13 September , 2012 Author Share Posted 13 September , 2012 Thanks Bernard and Jules - It certainly is a fair old chunk of brass which makes you wonder which unfortunate soul was on the receiving end.
