koyli Posted 8 September , 2012 Share Posted 8 September , 2012 Hi all, Thought I would share this with everyone. Got hold of this London Scottish badge which was dug up a month ago in the garden of a house on Kemmel Village High street. Incredible that it should still be in such a good condition. The lugs at the back are gone however. The 1st Bn of course took part in the battle of Messines in 1914 and would have been in the area . 2nd Bn were in the vicinty in 1918 when they were part of an attack in Loker, (I think). If anyone shoud have acces to a regt history would they have a look and possibly confirm about the 2nd Bn. Cheers Lawry
River97 Posted 9 September , 2012 Share Posted 9 September , 2012 Lawry, From what I can gather from the history of the London Scottish, the 2nd Battalion was in and around Kemmel from the end of july 1918 until the end of the war. It could have come from either battalion and a very nice find indeed. Cheers Andy.
