Old Owl Posted 13 August , 2012 Share Posted 13 August , 2012 The 'Bays' badge has obviously has two new lugs soldered to the reverse and there are signs of where a slider once was fixed on the crown, so I would say that this is a genuine badge which has suffered over the years and been repaired. The 'Queens' badge has had a new slider brazed to the reverse and has been discoloured by the heat produced in this process. This again is most probably a genuine badge but you will need other opinions regarding this.
high wood Posted 13 August , 2012 Share Posted 13 August , 2012 The Queen's badge is a shocker as the lamb is emaciated and the wool looks as if the lamb has been rolling around in a gob stopper factory. If this lamb has ever done any grazing it was probably in the foothills of Pakistan.
ATNOMIS Posted 13 August , 2012 Author Share Posted 13 August , 2012 Gents Many thanks. The chap is getting rid as he too has lost the will with all the restrikes and copies. His German WW2 Collection is amazing. Thanks again Simon
