Viceroy's Band?

post-91659-0-38443500-1343982237_thumb.jI believe this man was a member of the Viceroy's band in India. He is later on a bandmaster with the Sikhs, WO 11.

I've seen one photo of the Viceroy's band where the musicians are wearing similar uniforms but the sleeves of theirs are a bit different, with a cap on the shoulder. Does anyone know if this is the correct uniform for the Viceroy's band?

Thanks!

Sorry... should have added he seems to be with the Viceroy's band in India from 1906 to 1919 if I'm reading his record correctly. Some of the handwriting is difficult to interpret as faded. He was promoted WO C 11 in 1913.

I can't answer the question, but I think that's a 1911 Durbar Medal.

Thanks! I believe it is the Durbar medal. I understood he was at the Durbar but for some unfathomable reason hadn't clued in that he's wearing the medal in this photo & that this helps date the photo as post-1911. Thank you so much.
