Chris Noble Posted 16 August , 2004 Share Posted 16 August , 2004 I found this in my Great GrandFathers postcards. What's the link (if any), to the Talbot and the Dardanelles? Regards, Chris.

Chris Noble Posted 17 August , 2004 Author Share Posted 17 August , 2004 Many thanks for the info Malcolm. Just makes me wonder how an infantry man, captured in 1914, managed to obtain this type of postcard. Were these sort of postcards a common issue featuring a variety of vessels? Regards, Chris. Malcolm Posted 17 August , 2004 Share Posted 17 August , 2004 Chris, I have no idea how an infantryman POW would get a card unless post-war. I have seen postcards at collectors fairs which occasionally have WW1 ones but with big prices. Aye Malcolm

Chris Noble Posted 18 August , 2004 Author Share Posted 18 August , 2004 Thanks for your input Pals. Maybe, just maybe, he had a friend serving on Talbot at some stage of the war? Another one of them questions that should have been asked whilst certain members of the family were alive, and we are all guilty of that. Time and tide wait for no man. Thanks for your input guys. Kindest regards, Chris.
