Rob Bulloch Posted 16 August , 2004 Share Posted 16 August , 2004 Hello to the Forum. I have a pair of medals to a namesake of mine a member of the 4th Labour Corps and I would like to display them with the proper insignia, Did they wear a collar badge ? I have been told that they wore a small pick crossed with a rifle verification of this would be very helpfull. Thanks in advance. Cheers Rob. B. dycer Posted 16 August , 2004 Share Posted 16 August , 2004 Rob, Cannot confirm if Labour Corps wore the Collar Badge you describe but Pioneer Battalions did e.g. 8th Royal Scots, Pioneers to the 51st Highland Division. George

Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 16 August , 2004 Share Posted 16 August , 2004 That is Ivor Lee's website. In all the Labour Corps photos I have, there is not one of a soldier wearing an LC 1918 collar type badge. Hope this helps. Ian
Rob Bulloch Posted 17 August , 2004 Author Share Posted 17 August , 2004 Ian, George, Pozieres. Many thanks for your help, I still have a long way to go on Pte J. W. Bulloch 4th Labour Corps. This unit was formed from the 10th Works Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers would they at one time have worn the capbadge of the RSF ?or would they always wore the LC capbadge ? Cheers Rob. Ps The information in regards to this Unit was kindly supplied by Ivor and Ian B.
