Moonraker Posted 17 July , 2012 Share Posted 17 July , 2012 Some time ago (two years?) I mentioned that I'd visited an enthusiastic group of people from the villages near Warminster who were looking ahead to the 2014 centenary. Now they've got a very impressive website: click here Moonraker edited to cure duff link - I hope

CGM Posted 17 July , 2012 Share Posted 17 July , 2012 Hi, The link doesn't seem to work unless the index.htm is removed from the address . This can be done in the address bar after clicking on the link.
Moonraker Posted 18 July , 2012 Author Share Posted 18 July , 2012 Sorry, and thanks to B-G CGM for giving the solution. I've amended the link in my original post. Moonraker
Moonraker Posted 7 May , 2013 Author Share Posted 7 May , 2013 Update from the organiser: A big centenary event is planned in the Codford area for 26-27th July, 2014. "The Great War Association is supplying a field hospital, a field kitchen, Yeomanry with 5 horses and a horse drawn ambulance, an active element from the military Garrisoned in Warminster, Scouts as well as two local primary schools and much more." (OK, it's a bit cryptic, but the info comes from an informal email to me.) A local publisher will have a stand, as will a purveyor of miniature soldiers. Your humble correspondent has been invited to try to flog his two books. Location and other details in due course. NOTE: This is NEXT year!
