gordon92 Posted 15 July , 2012 Share Posted 15 July , 2012 I have seen occasional vague references to a report published 1919 from a committee headed by a General Sir A. Murray who studied the reintroduction of scarlet into the British Army after the Great War. Would any member be familiar with such a report? If so, might you suggest where this report could be found? Joe Sweeney Posted 15 July , 2012 Share Posted 15 July , 2012 Mike, Try to do a search at--- http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/search.asp?SearchType=1 I get lots of things copied via the NA. I did a quick search but did not find, but sometimes you have to keep at it. Joe Sweeney
gordon92 Posted 15 July , 2012 Author Share Posted 15 July , 2012 Joe, I did do a search at the National Archives site. After experimenting with the search terms as you suggested I found the report(s). There is actually a whole series of related reports in 1919 and 1920 regarding future uniform of the Army: WO 32/3214, 3216, 4928, 4929, 4930, WO33/3118, 3300. Thank you for the help.
