Remembered Today:

Anyone with good eyes tell me what regiment this is?

I know that the man in the photo, on the left, is called Joseph Beckett. He was born in Farndon, Cheshire in 1893 and moved to West Yorkshire sometime after 1911 and before 1915 (census records show him as living in Aldford in Cheshire in 1911 but he was married in Ingrow, West Yorkshire in 1915). His wife was called Annie Beckett (nee Holroyd). He survived the war and died in 1944. I don't really know much about his wartime service though. I am pretty sure the cap badge shows a horse but due to the quality of the photo I can't zoom in too much further. Any details and information anybody could give me would be greatly appreciated. post-90970-0-74704300-1340993916_thumb.j

Do you know in all the years i've been staring at the photo I never noticed the spurs... I thought the horse looked like the West Yorkshire Regiment too, but there were a few regiments with horse cap-badges and I wasn't too sure. Many many thanks. Any ideas now where I might be able to find more information about him?

Here are a few older photo's too, see if you can work your same magic. Joseph Beckett is the one with the ears...post-90970-0-37819700-1341003831_thumb.j
