I am trying to find information regarding the following soldiers who received the MC

Captain Harvey Gerald Carminow Carter C Coy 8th Battalion Worcestershire Reg.

2nd Lieutenant Richard Cottoon 2/14th Battalion London Regiment (London Scottish)

Both men come from the Bromsgrove area. I have looked at the online London Gazette which published awards an why they received them. But I have had no luck.

Is there an easy way to access Regimental Histories, or Battalion Diaries?

hello dorrie,

stackes history of the worcesters in great war- page 163 april - may 16

1/8 worcesters

shortly after midnight of may 21st a subaltern of the 1/8 ,2/lt h.g.c. carter while visiting his posts along the front line , encountered an advancing german patrol , in the fight which ensued the subaltern and his orderly were both severely wounded by bombs . despite his wounds the subaltern managed to reach the nearest post and gave orders for fire to be opened then he struggled back to the post on the right and gave similar warningbefore fainting from loss of blood.

his l.g. date should be 24/6/16 (published a few days before!)

i hope this is of some help
