Grandpacarr Posted 26 June , 2012 Share Posted 26 June , 2012 I have just taken delivery of an item that can only be desribed as a genuine Leeds Pals Sweetheart Brooch. The Badge itself is a genuine Leeds Pals capbadge that has been Enamelled as can be seen in the scan. On the reverse the Lugs have been taken away and replaced with a brooch type pin of which the catch plate is now missing, I am wondering if I should get the pin replaced but that operation could I suppose damage the really nice quality Enamelling and I really do not wish to do damage to an item nearly 100years old. I personally have never seen a Leeds pals badge that has been treated in this way. I just thought some of you guy`s might be interested in seeing it . Old Owl Posted 26 June , 2012 Share Posted 26 June , 2012 A very nice sweetheart badge--albeit full size. I would be cautious when considering replacing the catch--probably better to err on the sde of caution and leave well alone, rather than risk damaging such a nice piece. Well found!!
