İn the area of Pink Farm Cemetery İ picked up a shell base clip.

İt has stamped on it N.o 37 M.K. 1 and below that ESS

On the opposite side it has stamped R.W. 77

İdentification please.

I think the No.37 was for the 18 pdr, but Nigel may be able to give more detail.

"ESS" was the manufacturer, E.Showell and Sons, Stirchley, Birmingham.

That would be nice if it turns out to be correct, as near where this was found they were using 18 pr. Q.F. *
