Guest gen_wizard Posted 16 August , 2004 Share Posted 16 August , 2004 Hi Jim and Terry, Many thanks for your replies on this, as usual the pals come through again. Terry- I have photo of a war grave in Hitchin which was taken on sunday 14th August which is lying on its back. Is there a contact that you know of that could get this sorted and have the headstone put back upright again? thanks again Pals. Mike

Guest drobshaw Posted 26 November , 2005 Share Posted 26 November , 2005 In the 1970s (I think) I bought a tapestry from a secondhand junk shop in Woodford Green, Essex. It is still hanging in above my desk as I type this. It reads IN LOVING MEMORY of our dear boys BERTRAM ROBERT who died July 16th 1916 aged 24 yrs MAURICE ARTHUR who died Sep 23rd 1917 aged 27 years REGINALD JOHN who died Aug 9th 1918 aged 18 yrs The poor woman couldn't keep the last line straight. I'm attaching a photo. Please let me know if there's a better home for this than my study. David
