Recovering dead soldiers for proper burial..Kosturino

What is the official line on recovering the bodies of soldiers who are listed as having no known grave, when their whereabouts are known.

After the battle of Kosturino, the bodies of the british soldiers were buried by the Bulgarian soldiers assisted by locals in a mass grave near the village, and it is suggested by SALONIKA, the member who has extensive knowledge of that area, that according to local tradition it may be known where this place is.

Would it be practical to remove and rebury these soldiers, (mainly from 5th Connaught Rangers and 10th Hampshires) or is too far down the line for anyone to do anything about it.

There is the example of the Fromelles case, but that caught the enthusiasm of Australians for whom it was a significant landmark in the war. I suggest that if you are not already in touch you might want to contact the Salonika Campaign Society, and possibly the two regimental museums.
