Remembered Today:

MGC Shoulder Titles

I understand that machine gunners who went from their regiments into the MGC sometimes wore their original cap badges rather than the crossed guns on their caps as the mark of an Old Sweat.

Did they keep their regimental shoulder brass as well, or was the MGC title ubiquitous?

They might have tried to - but I am sure it would not have got past the RSM at Belton, Harrowby or Seaford. Or in the field. The MGC had a strong ethos. Once MGC - MGC , cap and title.
