Chris_Baker Posted 30 May , 2012 Share Posted 30 May , 2012 I plan to revisit this wood (and the large pit for the 38cm gun captured by the Aussies in 1918) some time next week. It's been years since I went there. Has anyone been lately? Is the wood still accessible?
Crunchy Posted 30 May , 2012 Share Posted 30 May , 2012 Chris, We were there in 2010 when researching Anzacs on the Western Front: The Australian War Memorial Battlefield Guide. The road across the bottom of the wood is still rough but you could gain access to the wood then. Regards Chris
Sly Posted 31 May , 2012 Share Posted 31 May , 2012 Hi, On my last visit two years ago the access (I mean to go into the wood) was quite difficult and I believe that the wood is privately owned too. The vegetation is also growing now and it makes the access more difficult. Sly
Chris_Baker Posted 1 June , 2012 Author Share Posted 1 June , 2012 Thanks, both. Might give it a miss. It was going to be the last thing on a long day, anyway.
