gordon92 Posted 29 May , 2012 Share Posted 29 May , 2012 Gentlemen, I am thinking about purchasing the service dress jacket titled to the Cameron Highlanders that is pictured below. It seems almost everything is legitimate to date this jacket as WW1 period including a single wound stripe on the left sleeve (not shown). However, I have never seen this pattern of drab worsted rank chevrons. Could someone advance an opinion as to whether the sergeant chevrons are genuine? trajan Posted 29 May , 2012 Share Posted 29 May , 2012 There is a thread somewhere on GWF about these 'patterned' chevrons...
Joe Sweeney Posted 29 May , 2012 Share Posted 29 May , 2012 This is a very nice condition jacket from what I see. The chevrons are absolutely correct and a variety seen on Great War Jackets. There have been severl threads on this type of Chevron. Joe Sweeney

Peter Doyle Posted 29 May , 2012 Share Posted 29 May , 2012 Very nice - jackets with this type of chevron are less commonly encountered in my experience. Best wishes Peter

I think you'll have to bid high! Tunics like this one, which is clearly right in every respect, don't come up that often any more.
