Has anyone got a photo of an RIR cap badge in 1914?

My goodness that was quick. Thank you very much. I had thought it was a gold coloured harp with crown above and the name Royal Irish Rifles below. The one you have sent is a much nicer badge. I have almost completed a family story about two brothers both KIA in WW1 and I wanted to get the badge correct. Thank you again for this.

Best wishes

In the late Victorian period they had worn the enclosed badges on various head dress, but by 1914 the white metal badge previously shown was worn.

It was blackened until the white metal badge was adopted.

Thank you very much for the information and for explaining the difference in the badges. Most appreciated.
