Remembered Today:

MORROW family

The name ALFRED MORROW appears on the Saughtree School Roll of Honour (in the Scottish Borders). There is no mention of a regiment.

The CWGC and SDGW list a few "Alfred Morrows" but none give a clear clue as being the same man.

The only help I have here is that the same Roll of Honour lists all those from the school who served and it lists the following:

CHARLES MORROW

ALEX MORROW

ROBERT MORROW

Being a small rural backwater with a small population I'm nearly confident that all these Morrows will be related.

Can anyone link these Morrows or provide an identity for ALFRED?

Derek,

The online MICs show several Alfred Morrow's, but one in particular is shown as being......

Medal card of Morrow, Alfred

Corps: Gordon Highlanders

Regiment No: S14021

Rank: Private

Is this possibly the same man?

Les.

SDGW gives an Pte Alfred Morrow 203861 1 Bn, Border Regt

Born, enlisted & resident Carlisle

Died 15.10.18 F&F

Formerly 315127 Westmorland & Cumberland Yeomanry

At least he is from Border territory if not from 'over' the border :P

Yes, Pte Alfred Morrow 203861 1st Bn. Border Regt is my favourite candidate but I'd love to be able to pin him down 100%
