Remembered Today:

Stumped on medallion

Greetings

I beleive this is the last one to identify.

I have this medallion from my grandfather's war display which I cannot even get a trace of an idea as to what or where it came from.

If someone could lead me in the right direction, would be appreciated.

Front of coin says "Gold Award" reverse has a number "C4251" embosed.

thanks

I would say it is a casino or gambling token or you would get it as a prize to spend in a certain shop or place.

Hi

Could I suggest that you make contact with some of your "local" large auction houses or specialist coin dealers, most offer a free valuation service and thereby will hopefully be able to ID the medallion for you.

Good luck

Don

auchonvillerssomme is right. I deal in coins. I can assure you that a "local" large auction houses or specialist coin dealers will not be able to offer anything closer than his response. The only likely person who will be able to give a definitive answer will be a specialist member of the Token Corresponding Society.

At least it isn't a brothel token which sometimes follow the same pattern!
