Gibbo Posted 20 April , 2012 Share Posted 20 April , 2012 The VC awarded to Corporal Arthur Cross of the MGC was sold at the same auction. It fetched £185,000 plus buyer's premium of £185,000. Cross's VC was worn by David Niven in the film Carrington VC, according the The Daily Mail. The article linked has a picture of Cross and Niven with the VC. Staffsyeoman Posted 20 April , 2012 Share Posted 20 April , 2012 I spy misprint Even Spink don't have a premium of 100%.. the hammer was £222,000. Cross did indeed respond to a newspaper advert asking if anyone would allow Niven to wear a genuine VC for the courtroom scenes in Carrington VC.
