Guest jjeffwilson68 Posted 1 April , 2003 Share Posted 1 April , 2003 When my Grandfather was KIA in 1916 . A padre the Rev AE Ross wrote to my grandmother telling her what had occured. I was wondering if there is a list of Padres who served on the Western Front at this time and if so where it can be found . Thanx Jeff
Martin Hornby Posted 1 April , 2003 Share Posted 1 April , 2003 Jeff. It would be worth contacting Lambeth Palace. They have an extensive library and archive. The web address is: http://www.lambethpalacelibrary.org/ I believe they might have some of the information you are seeking. Martin
michaeldr Posted 2 April , 2003 Share Posted 2 April , 2003 Jeff, Just in case you might have missed them, another couple of useful addresses also came up last month on a similar topic. On page 2 of "Other" have a look at "Chaplains." On page two of that topic are the addresses for the Museum of Army Chaplaincy and the Chaplain General's office. Regards Michael D.R.
