Pals,

Can someone please help with the cap badge and what might be pinned above his right pocket?

Gloucestershire Regiment Cap Badge {definitely} & probably an Imperial Service Badge over breast pocket {suggesting a TF Battalion} .. HB

I hope that helps Kate..

Kate

Cap Badge is that of the Gloucestershire Regiment and it's possibly the Territorial "Imperial Service" badge above his right pocket although it's not too clear.

I agree with HB and Steve.

The badge above his right breast pocket will be the Imperial Service badge, which means that he is a member of one of the territorial battalions of the Gloucestershire Regiment. The badge indicates that he had agreed to serve on active service overseas and the photo will have been taken sometime prior to embarking overseas.

Thankyou gents.

That's interesting, as there could be a Northampton connection, and some Gloucestershire territorials, including composer Ivor Gurner were billeted in Northampton.

That Ivor Gurner - what was he like? Always pulling funny faces.
