This is my Grandfather,He was a regular soldier at the time he was married in 1907.Which regiment?he has inverted chevrons on his left lower sleeve,what does it mean?

No picture. Or its snow camouflage in a very snowy scene.

Hi Scaramouche

Without the photo and by your description.

I would hazard a guess that the two inverted chevrons, are good conduct stripes for over five years service with no regimental entries against him.
