German field gun ?

The following photo was posted to Flickr, of what looks like some sort of German or Austrian medium field gun, in Romsey Park, England. Can anybody identify it ?

I'd guess it's a 10.5 of some variety. If it's WW1, the split trail is an advanced design, so probably late WW1. I'd guess German - Austrian military engineering was most likely pretty moribund by then.

Thanks for that... could be a Japanese Type 14 105 mm gun then.

It is a 150mm type 96 howitzer.

Rod,

Attached page from US publication. There were about 440 built. I last saw the howitzer at Romsey in the late 1990's when the local council was intending to do some conservation on the weapon. It looks as if they have tidied it up and given it a good coat of paint. We are getting dangerously out of era for the forum, better stop now!!!!
